The Elkhorn Ranch Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park preserves the remote site of Theodore Roosevelt’s “home ranch” in the North Dakota badlands. A 0.7-mile mowed pathway leads from the parking area to the cabin foundation stones, with exhibits featuring Roosevelt’s writings along the way. The unit has a quiet, solemn character and no visitor facilities; access is via unpaved roads with no cell service.
