About Flying Horses Carousel a Vineyard Preservation Trust Property
Built in 1876 and recognized as the nation’s oldest platform carousel, the Flying Horses Carousel was relocated from Coney Island to Oak Bluffs in 1884. Maintained by Vineyard Preservation Trust since 1986, this restored landmark features hand‑carved wooden horses with real horsehair manes and historic panel paintings, and is available for kids’ parties and grown‑up events.
