About Goat Island Lighthouse
Goat Island Lighthouse is an iconic historic landmark in Cape Porpoise Harbor, established in 1833 and owned and maintained by the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. A major restoration in 2011 returned the property to its 1950s appearance, rebuilding the walkway, reconstructing the bell tower, and refurbishing the keeper’s quarters. Visitors can view it from the Pier Road landing or visit by boat in summer, with a small dock accessible around high tide and occasional tours of the tower by the resident keepers.
