KTAOS Solar Center in Taos, New Mexico is home to KTAO 101.9 FM, a triple A-formatted station that became the first radio station in the world powered by the sun in 1991. With 150 solar panels on Picuris Peak powering a 100,000-watt transmitter, it is recognized as the world’s most powerful solar-powered radio station and a community gathering place.
