About Lockwood House
Lockwood House is a historic residence within Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia. Built in 1848, it served as the Armory Paymaster’s home, a Civil War hospital and Union garrison headquarters, and later housed classrooms and dormitories for Storer College educating formerly enslaved people. The National Park Service has preserved and rehabilitated the structure, with recent conservation and preservation work completed in 2021–2022.
