About Mackinac Island State Park
Michigan’s first state park, Mackinac Island State Park was established in 1895 and today encompasses more than 80% of Mackinac Island. The park features historic landmarks like Fort Mackinac, spectacular rock formations, quiet forests, scenic vistas, and 70.5 miles of signed roads and trails. Visitor amenities include multiple restrooms, a downtown visitor center with exhibits and a store, nature centers, interpretive panels and trails, and year-round access via the Mackinac Island Airport.
