About Museum Gardens

York Museum Gardens are beautiful botanical gardens in the heart of York, managed by York Museums Trust, and home to historic landmarks including St Mary’s Abbey, the York Observatory, and the Multangular Tower. The gardens are free to enter and open daily, with seasonal plantings, wildlife, and spaces such as the Artists’ Garden and wildflower meadows. Refreshments are available on-site, and accessible toilets and baby changing are provided in the adjacent Yorkshire Museum.
