About North Point Nature Preserve

North Point Nature Preserve is a 28-acre wooded and sand dune sanctuary on Lake Michigan in Charlevoix. Visitors can explore a 0.65-mile loop and about 1.5 miles of trails with overlooks of the lake, undeveloped shoreline, and abundant wildlife, including several threatened plant species. In winter, the trails are popular for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing and the preserve connects to the adjacent Mt. McSauba Recreation Area.
