About The Bear Golf Course

The Bear at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa is a public 18-hole golf course in northern Michigan designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1985. Recognized as one of Michigan’s toughest courses and ranked the 18th toughest in America by Golf Digest, it features Scottish terraced fairways, tiered greens, deep roughs, moguls, mounds, and deep pot bunkers amid rolling land with trees, lakes, streams, and fruit orchards.
