About Theatre of Performing Arts
The Theatre of the Performing Arts of Shreveport is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that for over 50 years has trained and presented talented and innovative African-American actors, dancers, musicians, and vocalists to the Shreveport and Bossier communities. Organized to fill an artistic void, it showcases the rich traditions of African-American culture and the accomplishments African-Americans have made locally and beyond, while fostering culture, arts, and history and guiding rural and inner-city preservation.
